The Sydney father of an Australian woman who is in Syria's al-Hawl camp with her three children has urged the government to make a formal request to the US

On Saturday, Mr Sales called on coalition partners to get both their foreign fighters and families out."Our offer to other countries that are interested in taking their citizens back is we are prepared to help and we hope you'll accept that offer," he said.

Mr Sales said he would not go into "private diplomatic conversations" but added offers had been made to "all of our coalition partners". Kamalle Dabboussy with his daughter Mariam and her daughters Aisha and Fatema in al-Hawl camp in north-eastern Syria. While DFAT said it was aware of Mr Sales' comments, and Australia "continues to work closely with the US" on the "complex challenges associated with foreign fighters and their families" in Syria, it is also understood the two countries have not held formal discussions on the matter.

Kamalle Dabboussy wants the Morrison government's help to repatriate his daughter Mariam, her three children and more than 60 other Australians from a refugee camp in Syria.Mr Sales' comments come as Turkey called on Australia to take back three Islamic State fighters it has in custody in Ankara."I have great fears for my grandchildren, I know they're losing weight. Govt says it's doing what it can but turns down help from the US. Obviously it doesn't want the women and children rescued but wants to make an example of them. auspol

No way!! They must never be allowed back!! We do not want these idiots abroad back. Not the kids fault. Not our fault either. The parents are 100% responsible. We are not a dumping ground for terrorists, criminals and their offspring!!

Leaving them there will cause more problems. Bring them home. Dutts is just using this abuse of women and children to look tough.

As a parent, you love your children unconditionally but, unfortunately, others do not and form their opinions on the facts of the situation. The facts in this situation show people who rejected their country and who could pose a risk to the community if they were to return.

Stay there. Terrorists get zero sympathy. Scum.

If they support that group and have kids then the kids genes could be that of suicide bombers so its way too risky, better off help control population growth and let them go to hell in which is what they supported anyway

Not worth reporting, made their beds

They made their choices!! Babies grow up reflect then blow up! We don’t want them!!

Your daughter made her bed, did she do it with the dads blessing?

There is a disgusting murderous depravity about a government that refuses to rescue 44 Aus. babies
