France’s ambassador has called on the federal government to greater climate action and to match the commitments of NSW and Victoria, declaring global warming a moral responsibility for national leaders at the United Nations climate summit in Glasgow next month.
He told the Smart Energy Council’s Global Race to Zero summit on Wednesday that global leaders who failed to act beyond “mere national interest or short term gains” risked the success of the Conference of the Parties summit . Mr Thebault invited comparison with the federal government by citing the “tremendous progress and commitments” of Australia’s state governments, which have all committed to net zero by 2050 and NSW and Victoria have set targets to cut emissions 50 per cent by 2030.
“Climate action is not only a moral responsibility, it is a complete transformation of our economies, societies,” Mr Thebault said. “Acting decisively is needed to reach the common goals and provide our societies the benefits of the early movers.Mr Morrison will face international pressure to match the goals of key allies at Glasgow, all of which have committed to net zero by 2050 and recently bolstered their near term targets.

Why COP26 is so importantAustralia is less than two weeks from the most important climate change conference the world has seen in a long time, COP26. How Government supports wealth transfer from their population to rich corporates ; scare the majority of population enough into believing a false narrative and they’ll support anything !! Except Chinese, Russian and Indian leaders some of the biggest emitters in the world. COP26 is a joke and will prove to be just another talk fest To cut that much emissions they have to close 50 percent of mine around Australia. By the way who gonna be alive by 2050 to see this policy, as government changes everything changes. Climate are affected by greedy rich who drill into the core of earth.
