The new outbreak in New Zealand has shocked Australia's closest ally after it pursued a seemingly successful elimination strategy that had seen no cases of community transmission for 100 days until this week | jamesmassola

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says New Zealand is 'going hard and going early' after learning from the coronavirus outbreak in Australia, extending stage-three restrictions in Auckland by a further 12 days and keeping the rest of the country under stage-two restrictions.

Following a cabinet meeting on Friday, the Prime Minister announced the 1.5 million residents of Auckland - the country’s largest city - were being asked to shoulder a “heavy load” once more in the fight against the virus. Stage-two restrictions allow the rest of the country to go shopping, meet with family and friends in groups of up to 100 but social distancing must be maintained."In keeping with our precautionary approach and New Zealand’s philosophy of going hard and going early, today cabinet has agreed to maintain the current settings for a further 12 days, bringing us to a full two weeks in total," Ardern said.

Jacinda Ardern at her Labour Party election campaign launch on August 8, before the country's latest COVID-19 outbreak.Asked specifically if Melbourne's experience had shaped cabinet's decision to lock down once more - the country now has 29 cases linked to one cluster in Auckland and one more probable case also likely linked to that cluster - Ardern said the government had taken an evidence-based approach.

jamesmassola I thought JacindaArdern had this taken care of? What happened? COVID19nz She put the country into lockdown and now she's going to do it again but what happens if it doesn't work again?

jamesmassola Glad the trans-Tasman travel bubble is off the table !

jamesmassola Dear All society this is message to you. And This question to all politicians the world and to prime minister Scott Morrison Australian And queen Elizabeth. 👇Share with your friends this is farmers wants a wife a videos

jamesmassola These words “ we have to learn to live with this virus “ will come after the economy is completely destroyed . It will come too late .

jamesmassola I usually think that Jacinda Ardern is quite alright. But when it comes to C-19, NZ acts completely illogically: a virus does not disappear just because you go die hard on lock-down. You have to face it in order to manage it.

jamesmassola Whats so surprising in this. Ideally the news should be no recorded/symptomatic case of covid for 100 days. Asymptomatic patients would have been there. So elimination strategy I guess wont work. Need to make a framework to live with it whilst protecting the vulnerable....

jamesmassola Play stupid games win stupid prizes! Lockdowns are fun.

jamesmassola no smiley photo?

jamesmassola Lockdowns don’t work, we had 8 weeks in my country, economy is dead, virus not, mask don’t work, people hate them, virus is happy. Covid is just another health risk and relax it’s not even a big one. Corona will be like diabetes, smoking, obesity and so on...

jamesmassola A bit late to be 'going early'

jamesmassola Corona is here to stay and not even the worlds declared greatest leader can lockdown an entire island full of hobbits to make it disappear.

jamesmassola What will the armchair experts in Australia say? You know those ones from UNSW or Melbourne who aren’t on expert panels used for advice by health departments? Constantly questioning and undermining ad confusing the dialogue the public hears.

jamesmassola What’s does that tell you - Corona is here to stay and can come up anytime- no point lol locking down countries and cities anymore - COVID - The new way of life !

jamesmassola

jamesmassola Is she blood Anglo like ScoMo? Blood Irish like Ned Kelly?

jamesmassola Full of shit.... * MSM * NWO Both can go fuck themselves!

jamesmassola Give it a rest, it's a few cases , why are we so ignorant and whiney

jamesmassola What a surprise. I guess virology isn't in the feminazi manual. Destroy the economy to reach the utopia of eliminating a virus which cannot be eliminated the same way we can have endless affirmative action racist and sexist programs to reach an utopia that can never happen.

jamesmassola Until the next time! troll

New Zealand records three more cases of coronavirusWorkers at an Auckland warehouse facility test positive to COVID-19, taking New Zealand's total number of cases to eight. Terrible leadership I guess. The source of infection is extremely critical here. If they aren’t able to link it to human-human transmission, then we have an enormous problem, as it *may* suggest the virus was obtained from a ‘surface’, which is perhaps almost impossible to avoid.
