Picture: NCA NewsWire / Andrew HenshawSome of the new staff would also be tasked with supporting Victoria Police employees who are victims of family violence. “The reason we’re doing it is to make sure we have a thorough and consistent investigation in relation to people who offend in respect to family violence, even if they are police officers, and that they’re treated the same way other members of the public are,” he said.
Among the new recruits were Adelaide Sheriff and Nigel Lee, who both decided to join the force after losing their jobs as flight attendants when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020.
