Australian women fleeing an abusive relationship will be given a $5000 government payment from Tuesday to help them escape the violence and set up a safer life.
The $5000 domestic violence support package will include $1500 in cash, with the rest available as direct payments for necessities such as bond, rent and school fees. “These barriers to leaving an abusive relationship are exactly what the ‘escaping violence payment’ is directed at making sure we address.”
Proof of domestic violence may include a referral from a family and domestic violence service provider, an apprehended violence order, a court order, or a police report.

About time, as a younger man I intervened twice when seeing women with kids in tow being bashed in the street by their partner, I made possible they could escape. They really need some financial help to get away, DV is not just about violence it is also about control.

need more really to escape from rubbish and also need to remove this rubbish from country or keep it locked up on isolated Island where it can no longer harm women and children.
I just hope this monetary incentive does not encourage false claims ? Maybe more serve punishment for criminals might be added or a better idea ?
