Senex Energy CEO Ian Davies says gas as a firming fuel is “absolutely critical” when it comes to making sure we can keep the lights on.

Senex Energy, owned by Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Energy and South Korean steel maker Posco, has announced a project to expand coal seam gas production in the Surat Basin.

“Today’s announcement is I think really good news for that security of supply to the east coast,” Mr Davies told Sky News host Chris Smith.

Santos takes 'important step' in getting Narrabri Gas Project off the groundThe energy giant has taken ownership of a company with approval for a pipeline which Santos needs to get its gas from Narrabri into the domestic market. A step backwards imo If the important step is shelving the project, then Santos would be doing the right thing. Otherwise they are just helping to ensure the destruction of the environment for future generations Good for NSW.👍
