A fresh fundraising effort for Israel Folau has already amassed more than $1.07m in donations, less than a day after it was launched by the Australian Christian Lobby.
Donations rolled in at a rate of more than $1000 per minute in the hour before midday, with no signs of slowing down.ACL Managing Director Martyn Iles said the organisation has relaunched the appeal following a strong community response. But the fundraising platform on Monday said it was pulling the campaign because it violated their terms of service, and that it was issuing full refunds to the more than 7000 donors."As a company, we are absolutely committed to the fight for equality for LGBTIQ+ people and fostering an environment of inclusivity.
