New data reveals devastating march of COVID-19 across NSW | pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone

New data reveals the devastating march of COVID-19 across NSW, showing the date and postcode of every case recorded for the first time.

Dean of Health Sciences at Swinburne University Bruce Thompson said a similar pattern of spread had occurred in Victoria, with wealthy suburbs including Toorak and the Mornington Peninsula containing some of the state's biggest clusters."It's an interesting pattern that's unravelling, we don't have a lot of data on why that's occurring yet, so whether it could be perceived as complacency or arrogance, we'll find out," Professor Thompson said.

Virologist Professor Peter White from UNSW said policing lockdowns in the areas with the biggest outbreaks was a possible strategy for containing the spread.

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone That map is a direct and obvious result of government restrictions imposed on airlines accessing Australia. Match the suburbs you think fly to/from the US and the Europe the most with suburbs that you would go to/from Asia. There's an incredible difference there.

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone It’s all effect in highly populated part of state. Should be call for completed lockdown? Why schools, Childcare and some private college are let to run from premises even now? Aren’t we risking community spread? GladysB please do something 👏👏👏 don’t wait till Easter

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone It would be interesting g to overlay this map with a population density map. They are not just affluent suburbs - they are also quite dense.

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone Blame the European backpackers

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone Coronavirus People defying quarantine orders STOP /////// Around 1 year confinement with a ankle bracelet in their homes, no ifs, or buts & make them pay for the cost, What do U think?

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone Is there a QLD version of this visualisation of the data by postcode?

pallavisinghal_ Nigelgladstone The devastating march of Chinese Diversity Flu, made in China. Fixed your headline.

'An outbreak in backpackers': NSW to search for undetected COVID-19 cases in Sydney's eastNSW will more aggressively search for undetected cases of COVID-19 in Sydney's eastern suburbs amid fears backpackers in Bondi could be spreading the virus into the community Strict quarantine of hot spots and individuals is the only way to stop spreading of virus. For centuries humanity was saved from pandemics with strict quarantine of hot spots until vaccine developed, tested and distributed. The backpackers found to have attended the parties and visited the beach, ignoring the rules at the time, should be quarantined, forced to foot the hotel bill and sent back to their respective countries. I’m not sure that 2020 is the time for backpacking. Go home to family when they need you most and stay safe. World is a different place right now. GladysB We need to look after each other.

'Incredibly encouraging' result as WA records just nine new cases of COVID-19There have been just nine new coronavirus cases recorded in Western Australia over the past 24 hours. Yes but it’s easy to keep numbers down when you don’t broaden the testing regime... which apparently isn’t happening until Thursday! So another fortnight before we will actually have an idea of what the transmission within the community is doing.. If we don’t do any tests tomorrow we will have beaten the virus! Where's this information coming from? In the 24 hours to 5pm yesterday 30/3 44 cases were reported. Since we haven't reached 5pm yet today 31/3, isn't this a bit premature? ABC you do a great job but it looks like you made a mistake here.
