Network 10 under fire for ‘misleading’ comments after Lehrmann defamation judgment

Network 10 has been criticised by Federal Court Justice Michael Lee for comments made by one of its lawyers in the aftermath of Bruce Lehrmann 's defamation case judgment, describing the remarks as"misleading". Justice Michael Lee has criticised Network 10 for"misleading" comments made outside court in the aftermath of Bruce Lehrmann 's landmark defamation case judgment.

During the hearing, Justice Lee raised various concerns about Network 10's"conduct" after the judgment was delivered, one of which regarded remarks from one of its lawyers. During the short media conference, Mr Quill was asked about Justice Lee's criticism of Network 10's conduct and journalism surrounding The Project interview with Brittany Higgins.

Justice Lee hit out at the lawyer's remarks, saying he did not consider his examination of respondents' conduct to be"devoid or divorced of reality" nor did it involve"picking apart and dissecting the respondents' conduct to some sort of standard of perfection".
