The Liberals are yet to reach a position on the referendum, which is expected by the end of 2023

, as well as Uluru statement from the heart co-chairs Pat Anderson and Megan Davis, in coming to the decision.

“There are Indigenous Australians who do not agree with this [the voice], who do not know what this means,” Price said. “Indigenous Australians are recognised. What we need now is practical measures, not an idea that lacks complete and utter detail, that’s based on emotional blackmail,” she said.

Unsurprisingly they are acting in the interests of the fossil fuel industry, not indigenous people.

The Nats seem to be only able to support an indigenous voice when it aligns with their own retrograde and divisive views & policies. They failed when they had the power, stripped & disempowered the previous indigenous structures, etc. Wreckers and naysayers the lot

The process of constitutional change is about opening people's hearts and minds not closing the gap

National Party have always been 10 yrs behind the national mood!

so last century

Bridging the Gap, is an offense, of usurping another's business. The intercorporate cartel perpetrated this with Parade of Horrors, several times in Main St, Maldon, Vic. Is the National Party attempting to usurp First Nations Voice to Parliament? Which bridge are they using?

Simply trying to cement the Canberra crowd into a permanent cash cow

Can't suggest a better alternative, and are against it because in the Nationals opinion it won't close the gap. So instead of being part of History they are rapidly letting it pass them by, doomed to stay the fossils they are.

The LNP in general are irrelevant, the federal and state elections have shown that. Let's all remember the election debacle in WA as well. Like I said, irrelevant.

Political suicide.

This lot really taking note of the current public sentiment towards a progressive society. Long may they remain in the political wilderness.

The patron saint of the IPA, Gina of Rinehart has spoken and her bidding will be done.

Only actions of indigenous people can close the gap. Their will not their voice.

ATSI persons are well recognised they have a vote just like everyone else so use it like everyone else.

FFS 🤦‍♂️

Nationals vote?.... not needed.

Good. VoteNo

and it’s not coz they’re racist neither

These Nationals will regret it politically very soon and pay huge price for that.

I'm Voting Yes

You were there shame

Disgrace

A pox on their houses.

Racist National party decides to remain racist. Once again proving there is no need for the LNP to exist.

I thought this was a personal decision or should I declare that my street is in favour of the ‘YES’ vote?

So , they're espousing the current system ?! Yeah, that'll change outcomes !

So what will close the gap that they are/have been working on? They don't want race based rules but have always been OK with race based bias/programs favouring white Ozzie's, right?

I take it they have spoken to all the Indigenous Councils and have listened to what they have to say..right ?

Warren Mundine n Sen Price told us it is not needed There are 100s of indigenous floating in APH n ACT

Shame on the nationals, ever heard of a moral compass?

Great news, VoteNo

Go ahead, doom yourselves!

Should still support constitutional recognition

I don’t remember it supporting marriage equality. I suppose if you’re white and heterosexual it will rort for you…I mean root for you

Not surprised.

Excellent news

One word: Pathetic.

Nationals to oppose Indigenous Voice to ParliamentThe National party says it will campaign against a Voice to Parliament, which would enshrine an Indigenous-elected representative body into the constitution. Littleproud should close the gap of his fuckin mouth Good Job. Everyone should oppose Racist Laws We expected nothing less from the Nationals.. Low values and little to contribute to the country, that is the Nationals these days... Which makes sense that they work with the Liberal Party, neither care for the country or it's people.
