Education Minister AlanTudgeMP says the national curriculum needs to “get the balance right” and ensure an increased emphasis on Indigenous history does not come at the expense of “dishonouring” the nation’s western heritage.

Education Minister Alan Tudge says the national curriculum needs to “get the balance right” and ensure an increased emphasis on Indigenous history does not come at the expense of “dishonouring” the nation’s western heritage. This comes after some critics argued the draft of the reviewed national curriculum - which was released on Wednesday - paints a false picture of the country’s settlement.

“I think it is a good development that the draft national curriculum includes more emphasis on Indigenous history. “I think we should honour our Indigenous history and teach that well but equally that should not come at the expense of dishonouring our western heritage which has made us the liberal democracy that we are today. “We have to get the balance right and I’m concerned that we haven’t in the draft that’s been put out. “But … it is just a draft.

AlanTudgeMP War on Woke: Ha'! To de-emphasis Christianity - namely Catholicism - in Australian history is to write the Labor Party out of Aust history. Just another friendly reminder, if you don't understand the Catholic Church you don't understand politics & you can't understand Australia.
