Multiple arrests as police target organised crime in Sydney

On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, police carried out 20 gun searches in suburbs such as Fairfield, Cabramatta, Burwood, Chipping Norton, Greenacre, and Merrylands.

The warrant spree was in response to arson, home invasions and shootings believed to be organised by criminal networks.Multiple people have been arrested and drugs, cash, and weapons seized after a series of raids across south-west Sydney. A 36-year-old man was charged with drug and proceeds of crime offences and will next appear in court on July 18.

A 31-year-old Merrylands man was charged after police allegedly seized an airsoft pistol at his home, and will next appear in court on July 10.The operation targeted organised crime. A 40-year-old man was arrested in Mount Pritchard and charged with affray. He will next appear in court on July 2.He was charged with domestic violence offences and appeared in court yesterday.A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested in Cabramatta after an alleged cannabis seizure.Further charges are expected to be laid as police continue to examine items and alleged illicit substances seized in the two-day operation.
