News Corp columnist David Penberthy says the mother of a teenage climate activist from New Zealand has hit out at a radio host after an interview.

Izzy Cook, a 16-year-old schoolgirl, spoke to NewstalkZB host Heather du Plessis-Allan and said flights to Fiji were not necessary – but when probed, Ms Cook admitted she had been to Fiji just months prior.

“I actually thought the interviewer was being quite, sort of, almost maternal, like she was trying to laugh about it without crucifying this poor kid who clearly is a massive hypocrite,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “Her mother has gone berserk and has now accused the radio station of cruelty and said ‘how dare my daughter be treated like that’.”

Mr Penberthy said if Ms Cook is going to be a “child prodigy” who wants to tell others how to live, it does “invite a degree of scrutiny”.Read More

‘A lot of debate’ around how much of anti-corruption hearings should be held in public or privateSky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says there is currently 'a lot of debate' around how much of anti-corruption hearings should be held in public or private. Mr Clennell told Sky News, 'The argument goes both ways - public hearings can destroy reputations when people are not in danger of being corrupt.' 'Private hearings can be abused by corruption watchdogs as well to unfairly target people who are not guilty of any corrupt conduct. 'Some of the penalties for divulging what happens in private hearings in these bodies are extremely draconian too - they can lead to jail penalties just for telling a family member.' all of it, every single one Yes. We all want to see Scott Morrison burn in the hell he doesn't believe in 🤗 And that's an integrity commission holding him accountable for all his sins in parliament 🙌 Only buy the people that might be involved. 😆
