Most hated COVID rule finally scrapped

For the last two weeks, in an effort to curb any community transmission of COVID-19 following an outbreak from the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Queenslanders have been required to wear face masks in a number of indoor settings, including at shopping centres, at gyms, in restaurants and cafes, and on public transport.

Gathering restrictions have also been eased, with homes now able to host up to 100 people and no upper limit on gatherings outside. Aged care and disability care homes, hospitals and correctional facilities are able to welcome back visitors. Up to 200 guests are again allowed at weddings and funerals, and ticketed venues can return to 100 per cent capacity.“I won’t say there won’t be future cases where we have to wear masks, I don’t know the future, but we are easing restrictions,” she said.

Qld was not forced into a lockdown, the Govt chose to lockdown then enforce it upon the people.
