ANALYSIS: Last night's surprise election result still harbours at least one more mystery

First, there will be continued counting to determine the outcome of seats in the lower house and the more complex half-Senate election.

Search all electorates, find out which seats are changing, and keep up-to-date on the latest vote count. The Constitution then requires that the Parliament shall be summoned to meet not later than 30 days after the day appointed for the return of the writs.

Don't worry Australia. The way Liberals are going, we'll probably have another prime minister in six months 🙃😀

I doubt it was a legit result.. there are loopholes that can be exploited, Aus policies and politics are not perfect, after all it's only a young country. A few more elections and they may find the loopholes and create counter measures in order to avoid further election fraud.

Be fun to watch them implode in a minority gov, they don't do negotiating well. They don't play well with each other.

My family & mates had been ardent Labor supporters till 2019.We are white collar. Bill is anti retirees, anti would be retirees, anti whoever who strives to earn more.We pay lots of GST,Levies,Frge Tx,Stamp D,Inc Tax. Glad to support welfare but we dislike Bill n cocky Chris

How Baz got it so wrong, again?

Maybe last night was the final australian voters reply to plotters with both Tony Abbott & Bill Shorten removed, a possible hung parliament & even the possibility of conservatives needing Labor/ Green support in Senate to pass legislation. We are an interesting Democracy.

How the ABC will survive privatisation?

Ardern: 'I don't understand why US hasn't passed stronger gun laws''Australia experienced a massacre and changed their laws. New Zealand had its experience and changed its laws. To be honest, I do not understand the United States.' 9News Hey Arden would you like it if Trump started telling you how to run your country? The NRA is very powerful and hart to battle against. USA is much bigger than NZ. Big means more problems because way too many of them are morons and think it is their sacred right to have guns - it's a culture thing and an ignorance thing...it will never change..but they will keep burying their kids as a penalty for the stupidity Because he (Trump), despite all his seemingly strong man ways he is really a wimp at tackling the NRA. It is 'easier' to talk about sacrificing American kids than trying to change the culture/laws that allows this. Pathetic actually. Where there is no will there is no way!!

'Decentralising hasn't worked so far, it won't start working now': Coates | Sky News AustraliaThe Grattan Institute's Brendan Coates has dismantled calls for decentralisation of Sydney and Melbourne, saying the reason house prices are so high in the two cities is because that's 'where all the jobs are'. \n\nMr Coates has told Sky News that the ratio of house prices to income in some regional areas 'isn't that much lower than parts of Sydney'. \n\nPrime Minister Scott Morrison took aim at congestion in the major cities in March when he unveiled a migration plan designed to encourage migrants to move to regional Australia. \n\nMr Coates says decentralisation plans have been in the works for a century, saying 'it hasn't worked so far, it won't start working now'. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n Exactly, immigration creates jobs, something the RWNJs on sty news forget (deliberately) to tell you Where have they decentralised. A proper NBN, as originally planned, would have allowed for greater job decentralisation........oh wait who was it that thwarted thatto allow his piss poor subscriber TV network to hobble on for a few more years?

Who are the biggest beneficiaries of the RBA and Scott Morrison's first home buyers' bounty?Having backed themselves into a corner, our leaders are now preparing to jettison almost every rule in the economics textbooks. Benefitting more of the foreign white European-Anglo-Christian migrant heritage community of Australians since first contact? What about the 1st home buyers from a decade ago who were rushed by the government, told to 'buy now or you'll never get in the market', who as such bought an overvalued house, whose interest rates skyrocketed then house value plunged & had to sell overpriced house at a loss? Didn’t we just go through the whole commission business into lending laws I understand ScottMorrisonMP was dead set against it. For someone who boasts himself as good for the economy this is just madness! It is cruel and selfish to play with ppl’s hopes all to “stay in power”

Morrison dangles 5pc deposit for first home buyers, before Labor matches policyThe Morrison Government and Labor agree on a plan to lower the deposit threshold for first home buyers to five per cent. Old school political election nonsense and lies this crap is Morrison dangles. 🤣🤣🤣 The LNP campaign has been long on rhetoric, fear, uncertainty and doubt, and pork-barrelling specific electorates, but very short on a policy platform. The fact is, if the LNP was seriously committed to their new policies they'd have introduced them in the past 6 years.
