Health Minister Greg Hunt has announced a government subsidy program which will significantly reduce the cost of treatments for multiple myeloma and psoriasis. From January 1 Australians will have access to a new treatment DARZALEX for the blood cancer multiple myeloma which costs 1,000 lives a year on average.
Speaking of the new treatment Mr Hunt said “longer lives, better lives and the potential to save lives” were the targets of the subsidy program. He said the drug would be reduced “from $160,000 to $6.60 a dose” to ensure it was available to those from all walks of life. “To be able to offer this hope in the new year for over 1,165 Australians is an immensely important national gift and step forward”.

GregHuntMP I’m wondering if the government might also like to chip in after the cancer surgery I had failed, (it’s known to fail by 95%. 🤫) I am forced to spend over $200 per week just to live. Zero subsidy. Trust the doctor you said, he’s a Professor, he wouldn’t lie.
