It averages the results of the five pollsters conducting national polls: YouGov Galaxy, Essential, Resolve, Ipsos and Roy Morgan. And, while we can see what the polls are collectively saying, this model says nothing about how accurate those polls actually are. The margin of error varies, depending on how many polls have recently been published, and their sample sizes, but currently it is plus or minus 1.2 per cent.Today, the polls are collectively putting Labor ahead — in two-party preferred terms — with between 53.6 and 56 per cent of the vote.If that was the result on election night, it would be a complete landslide and by historical standards.
Essential is reporting undecided voters in its figures, and ABC is converting this into a traditional, two-party preferred figure by excluding them.On first preferences, Labor's support in the polls overtook the Coalition's in December, 2021.
