Onlookers say police were 'unprepared' for the attack, amid reports it took up to an hour for police to enter the school and shoot the attacker.

Frustrated onlookers had urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman's rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, according to witnesses.

"Go in there! Go in there!" nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24. Upset that police were not moving in, he raised the idea of charging into the school with several other bystanders."More could have been done."Minutes earlier, Mr Carranza had watched as the gunman crashed his truck into a ditch outside the school, grabbed his AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle and shot at two people outside a nearby funeral home who ran away uninjured.

After running inside, he fired on and injured two arriving Uvalde police officers who were outside the building, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Travis Considine said.He "barricaded himself by locking the door and just started shooting children and teachers that were inside that classroom," Lieutenant Christopher Olivarez of the Department of Public Safety told CNN.

'More could have been done' in US that means that kids should have been given guns to defend themselves... Remember how many children were killed by US wars and guns. even now US still sending guns to Ukrainian regime that gives them to far-right neo-nazi and criminals...

Forget blaming anyone but the gun lobbyists and this archaic right to bear arms rubbish! Get guns off the streets! No one has the balls to stand up to them!

More could have been done to ensure that an 18 year couldn’t get hold of guns.

The right to the bare arms what a load of bullshit. We were critical of Putin killing children now America let's little children indure a horror like no other.

I wonder if these witnesses also say the same thing about their politicians who could certainly do more to prevent these tragedies?

What if ... no nevermind.

Who would want to be a cop in America? Calls to defund the police then this happens where were the police? 🤷‍♂️

And so the excuses and reasoning start (instead of any plan of change/action) in an anarchic country, which all others should aspire to be like and/or look up too…🙄🙄🙄

Defund the police
