Mogo Wildlife Park near Batemans Bay is home to "the largest collection of primates in Australia" as well as zebras, white rhinos and giraffes.
Featherdale Wildlife Park, who now own and operate the Mogo site, confirmed to 9News.com.au that everyone is safe and well."Everybody is safe and all of the animals and our staff are well at this stage," said a Featherdale spokesperson. "Our Director of Life Sciences Chad Staples urgently drove down yesterday and he reported that while the morning was very intense things have settled slightly."
Staff have moved animals inside to where they can be secured and the park's sprinklers are running to keep the property damp in an effort to ward off spot fires caused by flying embers."There's approximately 15 staff including Chad helping to defend the zoo, and like anybody else in the area they are defending the property by keeping everything hosed down and the sprinklers on," said the Featherdale Wildlife park spokesperson.

Where is Scott Morrison? People defending their livelihood and tourist attractions for what? For Australia. He is a wasteman.
those poor animals😢
I was thinking about Mogo Zoo this morning, and hoping the animals were okay. I'm glad they were saved.
I actually think they should have a backup plan just in case to evacuate the animals & the staff at the zoo to a safer location in the near future
Wow great news!
TheTodayShow Can you start posting names and photos of all the Government politicians and public servants, who stopped the back burning, and removal of the fuel loads in the cooler months, accountability should happen
Smoke is still a huge issue.
Thank you for looking after the animals...

Hope they’re all ok? We visit the zoo every year at this time but sadly due to the fires we’ve cancelled our camping holiday this year. Pray everyone is safe! 🙏
Great. Hope the humans are okay as well :-)
