Minns slams NSW Health’s choice to stop listing Sydney COVID-hit venues

NSW recorded 452 local coronavirus cases and an additional death on Tuesday, as Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned the daily numbers are likely to “rise substantially”.

“Based on experience gained during this outbreak, NSW Health has revised its follow up process for venues attended by cases to focus contact tracing efforts on venues where there is an increased risk of transmission,” the spokeswoman said in a statement. “The revised process also streamlines and simplifies communications, making the response faster as well as more focused. It is critical people continue to check in to all venues using QR codes if leaving their home for essential goods or services.”

Anyone who attended the venue during that time must get tested and isolate for 14 days since they were there, regardless of the result.

I got an email from our local Dan Murphy’s to advise it was an exposure site. I wasn’t there at the time but they are letting everyone know. Why is it being left to businesses to advise shoppers? What a failure of the NSW government. GladysB and HealthHazzard must GO.

Minns on this issue has nfi. Listing woolies, coles, service stations etc is a waste of space and the transmission from these sites since mask wearing was mandated, is almost non existent.
