Health Insurance company Medibank has pledged to return $266 million to current customers and those who held a policy with them in the last seven months, as part of its COVID profit share program. 7NEWS

“With inflation and interest rates continuing to rise, we know that many Australian household budgets are under pressure,” Medibank said. Australia’s biggest private health insurer is offering cash back and premium increase deferrals as part of an annual COVID profit share program.The two-month pause period will be automatically applied to Medibank and ahm customers’ accounts with an active resident policy, an extras policy or an active overseas visitors and workers policy.

“This give back will be funded from additional COVID-19 permanent net claims savings realised after 31 December 2022,” Medibank said.
