Meet the man who could save conservatives - or take them down with him auspol

On the first day of Queensland’s 2017 election campaign, Liberal National Party leader Tim Nicholls was on a bus, on a highway, headed for the Lockyer Valley.

After volunteering on Tony Abbott’s 2001 re-election campaign as an 18-year-old, he soared through the political ranks working for former Liberal Party leader Brendan Nelson, Howard government minister Helen Coonan, and Victorian senator Michael Ronaldson. While some admire his ambitious streak, others fear his experiences will come back to bite him – particularly his close relationship with the Liberal Party and his role as the public face of Careers Australia during its spectacular crash-and-burn three years ago.

But those in the Liberal Party are excited about Benedet’s project. Most praise his strategic mind and the discipline they had seen in his party work, and saw promise in Advance Australia while Benedet was at its helm. Numerous opponents brought up Benedet’s staunch conservatism, and insisted Advance Australia would never be anything other than a Liberal-aligned lobby group.

Now what Australia does not need now or ever is another charismatic 'moderate' conservative like Turnbull to be a publicly acceptable face for a party of grossly unacceptable reactionary policies. The whole conservative political wing has GOT TO GO!
