Matildas, Olyroos receive $2.4 million funding boost for Tokyo 2021 | SMHsport

The Matildas and Olyroos have received a huge boost for their preparations for the Tokyo Olympics with a high-performance grant of more than $2.4 million from the Australian Institute of Sport.

Steph Catley of the Matildas, who are the toast of Australian sport after last month's successful bid to co-host the 2023 Women's World Cup.Olyroos coach Graham Arnold called for government funding almost immediately after Australia's under-23 men's team sealed qualification in January to snap a 12-year Olympic drought, appealing to Prime Minister Scott Morrison to help them compete on the international stage.

"It's a fantastic effort for [the Olyroos] to qualify for the first time since 2008, and obviously we're massively proud of our long-standing support for the Matildas and the women's program. They're genuine stars, right at the top of Australian sport," Australian Sports Commission chief John Wylie said.

Wylie acknowledged football's argument and said he was "delighted" the AIS had been able to contribute.

Prosecutors admit 'errors' during Troy Bell investigationProsecutors say 'mistakes' made during an anti-corruption probe into SA MP Troy Bell — who is accused of misappropriating $2 million of public funds — should not cause his trial to be halted. No mention at all what political party he belonged to . I would bet my left eye if he were a Labor politician it would have been mentioned half a dozen times in this article.

Govt to roll out second coronavirus stimulus payment | Sky News AustraliaAbout five million Australians struggling under the impact of the coronavirus pandemic will begin receiving a $750 cash bonus from this week as part of a government stimulus scheme. \n\nThe Morrison government was set to roll out its second stimulus payment since the outset of the pandemic and was designed to support some welfare recipients as well as stimulate the economy. \n\nThe scheme differs from the government's first package as people receiving JobSeeker payments will not be eligible for the latest payments. \n\nImage: Getty \n It's unikely that will cover rent, groceries, bills and medical for the average family for one week. ALL COUNTRIES STILL PUSHING CORONAVIRUS BULLSHIT, ARE HIDING PEDOPHILES! They can run, but they can't hide. AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT IS RIFE WITH PEDOPHILES, SINCE FOREVER! UK SAME! Why call it a “stimulus” or “bonus” and talk about injection into the economy when this just covers what they need to survive? They aren’t exactly going to buy 10 pairs of shoes or go on a holiday with it? The government narrative is terribly misleading. Always far from reality.
