Every state and territory will see rain, with storms, snow, and hail also potentially on the cards.

Every Australian state and territory will cop a soaking this week as a "blocking high-pressure pattern" dissolves after months of keeping the rain away from parts of the country.

Weatherzone reported that a "stubborn" high-pressure system near southern Australia had helped keep parts of Australia dry for the past two months. But with that finally breaking down, a low-pressure system combining with "tropical moisture" will see rain sweep the country from west to east - along with the potential for thunderstorms, hail, and snow. The wet weather will be concentrated mostly on Western Australia until Wednesday, Weatherzone said, before moving across central and southern Australia on Thursday and hitting the east from Friday into the weekend.

Every state and territory will receive some, though forecast models differ as to how much rain will fall. Weatherzone said up to 80 per cent of Australia could cop a drenching, particularly due to the emergence of a potential second rainy system hitting Western Australia on the weekend.: Stay across all the latest in breaking news, celebrity and sport via our WhatsApp channel.
