These “whites” were forced here in chains and no free housing or welfare. Let’s be honest, the whites MADE this land a first world country. The English invading was the best thing that could have happened. Without it there would be no aboriginal welfare or payments.

Take it to a referendum- losing side respects the democratic process and stops complaining. You know which side will win don’t you.

Over 24million didn't, strangely the media don't recognize them.

So are my kids the future

And millions didn't. What about some positive media on happy joyfull Australia Day celebrations

I hate to be the bearer of bad news young lady but if this is how you are going to behave a large chunk of your future will be sponsored by Centrelink.

Where’s your story on the man carrying an Australian flag they attacked in Melbourne? I can’t find it.

I assume all the non indigenous who protested will take the only honourable course of action and leave Australia immediately. Anything less and they are simply a bunch of hypocrites. AustraliaDay auspol

It’s the same lot of left wing ratbags protesting all the time. They simply change the placards to suit each occasion. 😂

BS

How about go and protest outside the British embassy......no aussies invaded🤔

Thousands have gathered. Millions more didn't. Go figure.

I bet these people still enjoy the long weekend public holiday though! Maybe whoever doesnt want to celebrate Australia Day should be made to go to work!

Yep white Aboriginals 🙄

I heard this little jingle somewhere. I am, you are, we are all Aussie.

A few thousand protest as opposed to millions who celebrated

You can’t change history. Many of this lot don’t even know the history. Most likely paid protesters

What other date will indigenous people think is less invasiony. I mean August is always cold which doesn’t fee like invasion weather to me. Perhaps then would suit

Tens of thousands attend 'Invasion Day' rallies across AustraliaAs official Australia Day ceremonies took place across the country, tens of thousands turned out for 'Invasion Day' rallies, calling for the public holiday to be abolished. SBS Each to their own. Its probably time to recognise the past wrongs , accept the present and welcome the future so we can all celebrate this beautiful country we all love instead of fighting over it like parents in a bitter custody battle over children. If it is Invasion day, then it is also Victory Day, think about that. Thousands protest as millions celebrate! Let's stop being 'offended' by things we don't agree with.

Australia Day celebrated with citizenship events, parades, billy cart races and a day at the beachPeople across the country are out celebrating Australia Day, from large citizenship ceremonies in Sydney and parades through Melbourne to beers on the beach in Queensland. On this Aust Day I would like to ack. the Fed. of Aust.and it's associated democracy and independence from our colonial past. This freedom allows us to question the morality of our past, share our present and collaborate with all peoples to a challenging but vibrant future. We all must remember that some whites have allowed Indigenous peoples to prosper, look at these Indigenous doctors, taught by white men. Did ScMo write this article for you ABC? (and the report on the protests against Australia Day was thr minimum you could get away with while still pretending to have some journalistic integrity)

The Americans have Independence Day for example.
