National Cabinet's new emergency meetings twice a week begin tomorrow as federal, state and territory leaders race to fix Australia's delayed vaccine program.

State Health Minister Martin Foley today said the state will open mass vaccination clinics to all people eligible under stage 1A and 1B. The three vaccination hubs will be located at the Royal Exhibition Building, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the former Ford factory in Geelong.

I hope the government has actually learned from when all this started that people can’t be trusted to self isolate and also how we they get home from the airport? Via public transport or taxis? If this happens there will absolutely be new waves of COVID through the community

Its an ethical responsibility of ausgov to look after the people who have invested Thousands of dollars in Australia. we are stuck offshore because of the travel ban. If you dont wanna allow us then atleast extend our visas or freeze them extend485visas

What we need are many more Howard Springs type isolated hotel quarantine facilities. We need to get Aussies home, migrants in, workers in, students in etc. And at some point let Aussies go overseas and have our hotel quarantine ready for their return
See DrEricDing. Him and others report about variants/mutations and covid news from around the world. Not comforting reading but its reality. Thats why hotel quarantine is needed forever, in my view
They use the carrot of allowing Aussies to travel. We can see this is also about bringing in vaccinated students, migrants, fruit picker workers, etc. See my other comments why we can't do it this way.
Closed borders until lockdowns are abandoned permanently. If we are going to have a panic lockdown every time covid escapes from some returning globetrotter its not worth it.
Vaccines are good at keeping certain strains under control but might not work well or at all for certain people against certain variants. I too am disappointed that vaccines arent yet the 100% solution we were all hoping for. But thats reality. Play the ball as you find it
I spent most of 2020 seeing my child being isolated which stunted his intellectual and social development. Young children need to be around other children, not just so parents can work & have respite, but every day is crucial to a child's development. Don't threaten that again
The purpose of vaccinating people is to protect them as best we can just incase covid gets in. Vaccines are not a 100% solution against new variants and current covid. Vaccines work differently in different people. The vaccinated can still spread covid if they later pick up covid
If covid starts up again these politicians wont be losing work time staying at home with kids going crazy, missing out on education and social advancement while stuck at home
Home quarantine is dumb Returnees live with others who can pick up covid & spread it. Human nature is some returnees will duck out to the shops Don't do it, even after everyone has been vaccinated. Why? Because VARIANTS / MUTATIONS. Hotel quarantine will always be needed
