Police allege the 13-month-old spent 40 minutes unattended inside the vehicle.

Events began when emergency services were called to the Toukley Aquatic Centre car park yesterday after a member of the public found a 13-month-old boy alone in a Peugeot 4WD.Missing swimmer sparks search at popular Sydney beachThe front passenger window of the car was left slightly ajar, with all doors closed and the engine turned off.Paramedics found the boy red and sweating, but he was otherwise uninjured.

He has been issued with a future court attendance notice for leaving a child unsupervised in a motor vehicle, causing emotional distress.The Department of Family and Community Services were also notified of the incident. Police are reminding people that it is unsafe in any circumstances to leave a child unattended in a vehicle.

Young Man Dies in Four-Car Crash North of SydneyA young man has died following a four-car crash north of Sydney last week. Three trucks and a ute collided on Peats Ridge Rd at Wisemans Ferry at 10.40am on Tuesday February 6, with a 29-year-old man taken to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
