A man in a white van has reportedly approached children outside southern Tasmanian schools, offering them lollies.Police are increasing patrols around school areas, but have not said which schools the reports come from.

Tasmania Police have not revealed which schools in the state's south the reports had come from but said there were multiple reports in "recent days"."He has reportedly spoken to children near school grounds, after school hours," he said."While the intentions of the man are unclear at this stage, it is important that we are vigilant and that any unusual vehicles parked near schools or other locations where children congregate are reported to police.
