A man has been charged over the alleged stabbing of a NSW police officer that occurred in Sydney 's CBD over the weekend.The incident occurred while two officers were performing traffic duties at the intersection of Castlereagh and Park Streets in the city CBD.
The knife-wielding man fled and was pursued by the injured officer and a female constable along Park Street. He was taken to Day Street Police Station after he was released from hospital, and charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.Crime scenes at the intersection of Castlereagh and Park Streets and Elizabeth Street, near Bathurst Street were forensically examined.
