Man arrested over 2018 death of Nicole Cartwright

Homicide detectives arrested a 51-year-old man at Parramatta police station shortly before 1pm. He is expected to be charged over Ms Cartwright's death later on Wednesday.It follows a lengthy strike force investigation into the death of Ms Cartwright, 32, whose body was found by a council worker wrapped in a bedsheet in Buffalo Creek Reserve on October 3, 2018.

Detectives from the homicide squad and Ryde police area command established Strike Force Winkurra to investigate.They made multiple public appeals for information, including examining her use of online dating applications, classifieds and social media, all of which she used to meet people on a regular basis.

Her last known sighting was at Museum railway station on September 30. She then met people in Paddington about 9.45pm, before catching an Uber on Moore Park Road shortly after midnight.She lived with her parents at Lansvale and had a wide circle of friends, often spending time in Sydney’s CBD, eastern suburbs, and surrounds.
