A 63-year-old man from a small town in New South Wales has been charged with more than 70 historical sex crimes, including attempted rape, allegedly committed over five decades.
NSW Police arrested a 63-year-old man about 8.45am on Wednesday following extensive investigations by the Central West Child Abuse Squad. Footage released by police showed two detectives placing the man in handcuffs at a large property and conveying him to the local police station.The man has been accused of more than 70 offences including attempted rape, aggravated sexual assault and act of indecency with a girl under 16 years.A total of four women were allegedly sexually assaulted during the period, three of whom police said were under the age of 16 at the time.
The state's police force established Strike Force Boche in October 2022, which is committed to investigating historical child sexual abuse in Central West NSW. In a statement, police said the charges against the man include: "Act of indecency with a girl under 16 years, attempt rape, aggravated indecent assault, aggravated sexual assault, committing an act of indecency, having sexual intercourse with a person aged 14 years or over and under 16 years, aggravated sexual assault, sexual intercourse without consent, sexually touching another person without consent and assault with an act of indecency."
