A man has been taken into custody after police failed to revive a woman at a home in the state’s north.
When they arrived, police assisted the woman, who was in a serious condition, however she died at the scene.Police arrested a 31-year-old man at the scene and took him to Lismore police station, where he was assisting with inquiries.Investigators have established a crime scene and a critical incident team from Tweed/Byron Police District will investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident – including the police response.
The misconduct investigations are subject to an independent review by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
