A Melbourne man has been arrested and false documents seized following an investigation into more than 500 fraudulent applications for COVID-19 support payments.

Police have arrested a man as part of an investigation into allegations more than 500 fraudulent COVID-19 grant applications were made during the pandemic.

He was interviewed by investigators, with police expecting to charge him on summons with multiple deception and fraudulent document related offences. The applications related to the COVID-19 temporary isolation payments made available during the pandemic. Police executed a search warrant at the Braybrook residential address, where items including a card printing machine and a card embossing machine were seized.
