Woman, aged in her 60s, dead after being hit by a van at Pymble , as police warn of major traffic delays on Pacific Highway
A woman has died after being struck by a van at an intersection of a major highway on Sydney's Upper North Shore, with police warning traffic is expected to be significantly impacted in the area for some time.Police were called to the Pacific Highway near the intersection at Beechworth Road at Pymble after reports a woman was struck by a vehicle heading northbound about 6.20am.She is yet to be formally identified, but police believe she is aged in her 60s.

Beechworth Rd also remains closed. Continue to allow extra travel time in the area.Police said traffic is expected to be impacted for"some hours" around the crash site, with motorists urged to avoid the area if possible.
Two of three northbound lanes remain closed on the Pacific Highway, including a right turn lane, according to an update from Live Traffic Sydney just after 8am.A crime scene has been established as police investigate the incident.
