Jordan Mailata rings the Liberty Bell at the Four’N Twenty 76ers' Heritage Night celebrating Australian culture

Mailata completed the same Pathway program that Holmes is doing, before the former South Sydney U20s big man was drafted by the Eagles last year. In his debut year in the league, despite his inexperience, Mailata's natural talent earned him a spot on the 53-man roster in Philadelphia."I told him don’t dip your toe in the water, drown in it and learn how to swim," Mailata said.

"It just provided me with the fundamentals that I need to learn and getting into a routine that will carry me through to be a professional. They have astounding facilities that are out of this world." The NFL program also offers to put an international player on a team in that division for the entirety of pre-season training camp, and then franchises have the option to put one international player on their practice squad in an exemption spot, allowing 11 on the practice squad, but that player is ineligible to be activated during the season.Mailata didn't flinch when asked whether he believes Holmes has the skills and potential to make it in the NFL.
