"We don't understand its life cycle, like where is it born? Is it born in an estuary? Does it move back to the coast? Does it mature?" he said. "It's not necessarily rare, but you rarely catch it. We've only caught very low numbers of it," he said.The species has an intriguing way of hunting small fish, such as popeye mullet, which has caught the eye of fishers and scientists.
