The prospect of carbon tariffs being imposed on Australia by other countries leaves the nation with “little choice” when it comes to committing to a net zero target, says Herald Sun journalist Caleb Bond.

The Age is reporting Trade Minister Dan Tehan is warning miners and farmers will be impacted by carbon border taxes if the nation does not commit to net zero emissions by 2050.

“The problem when it comes to Europe and other countries imposing carbon tariffs is there’s not a lot we can do about that,” Mr Bond said.
