Victoria’s lockdown is set to become even stricter on Saturday in a last-ditch attempt to control a coronavirus outbreak Premier Daniel Andrews warned was on the precipice of “spiralling out of control”.
Two weeks into the state’s sixth lockdown, 30 of Friday’s 55 cases were not in isolation during their entire infectious period - a metric authorities want at zero before easing restrictions. All cases in Shepparton will be counted in Saturday’s numbers. But Mr Andrews said 80 per cent vaccination remained the benchmark for reopening in Victoria and a significant easing of restrictions prior to that would be a deviation fromRestaurant and Catering Australia chief executive Wes Lambert threw his support behind NSW’s 70 per cent reopening plan. He said it would be a “political catastrophe” for any premier to have “promises a return to normal at 70 to 80 per cent vaccinations and then walk away”.

I knew someone just entered into Vic from Sydney. Just get through and nobody get checked. If the Victoria border control still like it, there will be hundreds more lockdown in the future. And all Victorian’s current sacrifices are no sense.

Everything seems to be repeating and we seems not to be learning. I am sure Dan Andrews would have known that releasing the regions from the lockdown would lead to people from metro Melbourne potentially with the virus going into the regions.
