Participants can enter information about their mood and get a detailed profile of their current mood and what they can do if they show signs of mental illness.
Dr Parsons-Smith said the change in the national mood was likely due to the combination of both the sudden, prolonged social isolation, coupled with decreased levels of physical activity that were the natural result of lockdowns. Women seemed to be affected more by the pandemic than men, which Dr Parsons-Smith said was likely due to women being more likely to be called on to expend more "emotional labour" during times of crisis.
That was attributed to that group being more likely to have lost their jobs during the pandemic, as well as being affected by negative information more than older people, especially those aged over 55.
