Transport for New South Wales has so far received around 2575 public liability claims for car tyre and rim damage since October, compared to 356 last year, which is an increase of more than 600 per cent., which are causing major traffic hazards.Hawkesbury mayor Sarah McMahon said they didn't have enough funds to cover the gaps.

But the Minister for Metro Roads, Natalie Ward, said most of the roads were the local government's responsibility.Local governments are pushing for more funding to fix roads with pot holes, caused by increased rain. Matt Wilson from Transport for NSW said they were working as fast as they could to make the roads stay as safe as possible.

About $50 million has been handed out to rural and regional councils by the state government to fix their roads.
