LNP ‘ready to take the fight’ to Labor after Springborg presidential election

“There is no more respected figure in Queensland politics than Lawrence, 37 years a member of the LNP and the National Party previously, nearly 30 years as a member of parliament,” he told Sky News.

The shadow treasurer insists the reforms introduced over the weekend at the party’s convention marks a “turning point” following years of internal turmoil. “This is a turning point for the LNP – there’s no doubt that we had been beset by internal issues but, from now on, those issues are off the radar,” he said.

“They’ve been addressed, 800 people here at our convention, that sends a clear message that the rank and file of our party are fully engaged, want to address some of the challenges and now it’s done. “From here, we’re united, we’re strong and we’re ready to take the fight up to the Labor government towards 2024.”
