New inflation figures are expected to show consumer prices rising faster than wages with some economists predicting the annual rate could hit between 6 and 7 per cent. Follow live.

It all comes down to supply and demand.is how much of that thing is wanted.

Probably the most basic concept in economics is that prices will adjust based on supply and demand, and vice-versa. In other words, if people want to buy more of something than is available, then the price will go up to ration the goods to the people who are willing and able to pay that cost. So with COVID, the war in Ukraine and flooding in eastern Australia, the production and distribution of many goods has been restricted.Lori Youmshajekian

“Inflation annual figures hit 6.1 per cent”. This is price not expenditure. Wake up ‘economic experts’, including the the RBA, Politicians and Bankers; this does not justify interest rate increases.

How the rich get richer

Derp

I still remembered I wrote everywhere last year warned the policy makers of supply of government voucher (free money). Well no one realized the consequence. Now it's time, with supply chain unfixed, the only way for them to lower inflation is to increase interest and unemployment

Central Banks and policy makers made huge mistake of printing over-needed money and misjudged the inflationary risk a few years ago (ignoring investors and economics' warnings for up 1 year) and now it's poor citizens to pay back time.

Where's that plan? Zippy? Albo? You had a plan, that's what you told us.

I think Aus is still at Inflationary mode. US had been cutting back on hiring in last 8 weeks . That itself will stop inflation soon. Interest rates should come down when unemployment goes back up towards 5%

Same old same old

Breaking! Water is wet

Consumer prices have always been rising faster than wages.Nothing new.

We should cutting ABC funding.

So what has Labor put in place to slow the inflation down. They have done nothing since elected, but play the blame game, it was the previous governments fault. If you don’t have the right policies and settings you are always going to have a problem.

Albo get this, thing is if ScoMo said this ABC/Lefties would go nuts. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says banning fossil fuel exports and new coal and gas mines to try and reduce climate emissions won’t stop global warming but would devastate the Australian economy
