Australia has laid the groundwork to earn themselves an extra day off, needing just six wickets to claim a 2-0 series victory over the West Indies on day four at the Adelaide Oval. Follow live.

Scott Boland has had one heck of an introduction to Test cricket.

He was actually in Australia’s Test squad in 2015/16 as a standby for Peter Siddle, which coincidentally the last time the West Indies toured for a Test series. He only made his debut last year though and has taken to Test cricket like a duck to an England Ashes scorecard. Here, he "struggled" in the first innings, going wicketless through 16 overs to see his average balloon to over 10. The horror.

However, he's rectified that now with that stunning three-wicket maiden first up yesterday evening and is now back on an average of 10. Phew. And that kinda figures - even in his brief Test career thus far, Boland has been better in the second innings. You'd expect him to do well at Adelaide Oval though, based, if nothing else, on the prodigious swing and accuracy he employs, and the pink ball.

But he's also got a great domestic first class record at Adelaide Oval, with 36 wickets for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield, his second most at any venue in the format behind MCG.
