It's every teenage girl's worst nightmare — getting their period at school and not having any sanitary items.Period products will be free for girls in Tasmanian state schools from term three this year
Premier Peter Gutwein made the announcement while delivering the State of the State address in Parliament yesterday. "I know many females here that have that problem of not having the accessibility of free sanitary items," she said. "We were put on hold for a fair while because of COVID, but 13 months later and we finally have our machine," Ms Slay said.Each period pack contains two pads and six tampons.
Student Emma Johnston said the machine came about after students attempted to try and work out what the biggest problems at Don College were.

Sanitary products should be free for citizens. Or at least free for citizens under 18 before they qualify for Centrelink.
abchobart Any parent not buying their female child sanitary products when they need them, unless the child is receiving their own Centrelink payment, should have their kids taken off of them. It's only a few dollars a month, and even the minimum level of child-support or FTB would cover it
