A bill designed to improve the lives of those living in residential land lease communities has passed through NSW parliament.

Legislative changes have been made in NSW with the aim of improving the lives of 40,000 people living in residential land lease communities.Daryl Rowe is one of about 40,000 people who rely on residential land lease communities as an affordable housing option in New South Wales.

Among the changes, are that operators will be required to provide more information about proposed fee hikes and ensure they are fair. North Coast, Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and Sydney area MPs supported the bill and said it would positively impact many of their constituents."In our area, due to lack of availability, the cost of rental properties is astronomical for a regional area," she said.Operators will have 12 months to review and update all existing site fee agreements to ensure they are compliant with the amended legislation.
