Rugby league legend Braith Anasta has delivered an impassioned plea for the NRL to support the Bulldogs in the wake of legal proceedings being launched by former player Jackson Topine.Topine’s legal team claim he was subjected to “assault” and “humiliation” before subsequently requiring mental health leave , while the Bulldogs have released their own statement rejecting the claims.
“It’s crazy. I can’t get my head around it, this guy has rocked up to training late so when you rock up to training late you get tough discipline,” Anasta said on NRL360 on Wednesday. “If you’re worried about concussions, this is a concern because it shouldn’t be allowed and the NRL need to support the Bulldogs.”
“The RLPA, yes they need to support the players, but they need to think of the other hundreds of players that do this every day. “We are in an environment where there’s an employer and an employee who is the player, and we have a duty of care to make sure these players .
