Wallabies great David Pocock has called out Prime Minister Scott Morrison for his claim that sport should refrain from making political statements.during its Big Bash League promotion, due to the hurtful connotations of January 26 among Indigenous Australians.
Yet Morrison has openly embraced sport during his career, as many Australian politicians have, and Pocock accused the Prime Minister of seeking his own political leverage from popular codes. "That's just not true and politicians know it - that's why they use sport for their own political agenda. Australia even uses it for diplomacy.
