The hotel quarantine Inquiry will not recall Premier Daniel Andrews or Jenny Mikakos after a push from shadow Attorney-General Ed O’Donohue to recall the two due to a “conflict of evidence”. Both Ms Mikakos and Mr Andrews fronted the inquiry in its final week of evidence, in which the premier laid part of the blame onto the then-health minister’s feet. Ms Mikakos then resigned the next day, but said she disagreed with parts of the premier’s evidence.
Shadow Attorney-General Ed O’Donohue told Sky News host Peta Credlin, after writing to the inquiry insisting it recall the two, he has been informed it will not happen. “I think it is disappointing given that Jenny Mikakos, in her resignation statement, highlighted the conflict of evidence between the two,” Mr O’Donohue said. “Given they are the two most important players of the hotel quarantine fiasco, leaving that evidence in conflict is a mistake in my respectful view.
