Infectious Diseases Expert Peter Collignon says the latest coronavirus outbreak in New South Wales is tracking the same way as the Crossroads Outbreak during winter last year and "doesn't warrant locking down five million people at this stage". "I think locking down on a more limited number of people, which has been done before in the Northern Beaches, is more appropriate as we see how this unfolds," he said.

No point in blaming the limo driver the controls were not in place. Govt failure again! Why are Fed/State govt allowing flight crews or anyone else fly in from overseas into our densely populated cities as opposed landing at remote quarantine facilities and being isolated?

Peter Collignon also says smoking is good for you 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤕💨💩

Make up your mind, Pete ...

That’s because Sky News doesn’t want to criticise a LNP state.

Infectious diseases expert: 'No magic number' when deciding to lock down | Sky News AustraliaLeading infectious diseases expert Professor Sharon Lewin says there is “no magic number” of cases for states to refer to when considering lockdown. \n\nMs Lewin said she did not think the Berejiklian government had “waited too long” to send parts of NSW into lockdown, saying it depended on factors such as contact tracing and testing rates.\n\n'Sydney has very good systems in place, so it really depends on how well they’re keeping up with the numbers,' she said.\n\n“I’m actually quite supportive of testing other ways of doing this because otherwise we’re locked into recurrent lockdowns, which I just don’t think is sustainable to be doing repeatedly over time.”\n\n Ey iman edenler! Kean: ‘No measure too strong’ to contain NSW COVID outbreak | Sky News AustraliaNew South Wales Environment Minister Matt Kean has refused to rule out the possibility of locking down Greater Sydney, saying “no measure will be too strong” to curb the state’s escalating coronavirus outbreak. \n\nHealth officials confirmed the state recorded 18 new locally acquired cases up to 8pm on Wednesday night with an additional six cases to be added to Friday’s numbers. \n\nMinister Kean said the government’s priority was to prevent overwhelming the state’s medical system.\n\n“Well who knows (if Sydney will go into lockdown), again we’ll take the advice of the health officials,” he said. \n\n“What we do know is this Delta strain is very contagious and easily transferrable, so we’ll take whatever steps are necessary to keep the community safe. \n\n“We’ll be advised by the best health officials anywhere in the country and no measure will be too strong to keep our community safe and stop people from getting this virus and ending up in hospital.”\n Matt_KeanMP Matt_KeanMP I think it’s best for Kean to stay in his lane and leave the response to Gladys!

NSW coronavirus outbreak has gotten ‘very personal’ for politicians | Sky News AustraliaThe fight against the coronavirus outbreak in New South Wales has now become “very personal” for its politicians, according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.\n\nIt comes as NSW Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall has tested positive for the virus after attending a post-budget dinner at the Strangers’ Dining Room in parliament house.\n\nMr Bolt said this caused “all kinds of chaos” however Marshall “doesn’t feel sick” and none of the nearly 50 people now infected in NSW are “sick enough to be in intensive care”.\n\n“But people who were at that dinner have been sent messages – isolate for two weeks, except oddly enough the Premier Gladys Berejiklian, who was good to go this morning after a quick test,” he said.\n\nMr Bolt discussed the issue with Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.\n\n“I do question, if Gladys Berejiklian’s name was ‘Josephine Blogs’ how she would be treated in this instance,” Mr Clennell said.\n\n“It has to be one rule for all of us or the whole system falls down.”\n But how did Daniel Andrews allow this to happen? Yeah it's personal alright. The LNP won't allow covid to interfere with their rooting, rorting & ripping off. It isn't personal, it's policy.
