The Australian’s latest Newspoll shows a budget bounce for the Coalition, up to 48 in the two-party preferred numbers, with 52 in favour of Labor.

The result sees the best figures for the government since Scott Morrison became the Prime Minister in August 2018. Campaign Edge’s Dee Madigan says the PM may see the figures as ‘as good as it gets’, and therefore a reason to potentially call the election on Monday.
